Art Dielhenn enjoyed a 30-year career in the entertainment industry, 15 as an A-list network TV director. His longevity allowed this native of Princeton, New Jersey to work with some of Hollywood’s best. His cumulative experience directing dozens of hit shows uniquely prepared Dielhenn for his next career as a certified professional coach.
After graduating with distinction from The University of Wisconsin with a degree in Communications, Dielhenn headed west to Denver, San Francisco and finally LA. He directed over 15 pilots and 300 prime time episodes including: Punky Brewster, Head of the Class, Silver Spoons, Webster, Designing Women, Sister Sister, Cosby, Jamie Fox, Jeff Foxworthy and many others.
Dielhenn appreciates his “great run” as a Director. That said, the long hours, many stressors, freelance challenges and shifting markets ultimately propelled a transition to a new career drawing on all his natural gifts, talents and experience.
Always interested in psychology and “what makes people tick,” Dielhenn began studies as an MFCC. Two semesters into that degree he discovered coaching, a practice of focusing not on patient problems & pathology but instead on client potentials, actions and solutions. The day he discovered coaching was his last as a training therapist.
For the next two years he attended the highly respected Coaches Training Institute, one of the foundational programs setting assessment requirements & professional standards for the International Coach Federation, the governing body for coaches worldwide. Dielhenn received his Professional Coaching Certification in October of 2000.
Since then he has worked with hundreds of clients using the Co-Active Model that holds each client as naturally creative, resourceful and whole. The model recognizes that we all possess a deep reservoir of resources and understanding. The goal of coaching is to elevate these resources and understanding to clarify and propel the way forward. It’s a process that calls on the client’s best creative thinking, inner drive and yearning for fulfillment providing new life freedoms of direction, action and achievement.
